2003 Silver Proof Set...2nd place for most sold

it is just behind the 1992 Silver Proof Sets and has surpassed the 2000.
So, how many people "speculated" that 2003 would be a good year to buy multiples of and got many of them?
The 2000s aren't worth much more than originally offered for.
The 1992s are still low ($16 or so).
So, the 2003s will suck too?????

There goes the myth of the "odd-numbered years of the state quarter series will be good".
The only "good years" seem to be the 1999, 2001, and 2002 now.

Oh well. Mom gets a 2003 Silver Proof Set in her stocking this year I guess image

Source: 12/23/03 Numistmatic News. Page 24.
1992 - 1,009,585 sets sold
2003 - 970,199 sets sold (current and "running heartily")
2000 - 965,921 sets sold

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I think the biggest hypes for these selling so many were the misprinted COA and of course the "faded" 3, "missing" 3, or whatever else people want to call it on the cents.

Sure am glad I was not suckered into it. image

I recently sold my 1999 and 2000 clad and silver proof sets. I don't know, for some reason I really feel they are going to go down in value over the next year or so. image

    Anyway, that is another story.

Now that there have been two back-to-back years with virtually no appreciation potential the numbers for next year will probably drop.
    All glory is fleeting.
