Wow, I'm jealous! It looks to be at least a 65 and I would suspect that it might even be a 66 . Nice purchase.
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!
You're correct! MS65...When I receive it, I'll entertain the idea of an upgrade depending on how it looks. It's already going back to get attributed with the Type 3 on the holder.
Does anyone know if PCGS will do both, attribute and regrade? If not, how do I get it attributed? Do I just send it in for a reholder and it's done automatically, or ????
I've always thought that Ikes were cool. They were around when I was just a kid, and it was the first "weird" coin that I saw. It was so big and different from the small coins I was used to.
I've got a few high grade silver MS and proof Ikes, but I haven't gotten any of the regular business strikes yet. I don't know what I'm waiting for.
There's no particular rush to have it attributed, even if you're using it for a registry set, because they reused the old coin number for the Type 3. (I suggested they do that as it's the most common variety in gem grades.)
Am I the only one troubled by the title of this thread?
IKE is a she? and she's beautyful?
OK, before you flame me, I know it's just an expression, but I still found it funny. After all, if the title had been "1972 Type III Dollar - She's a beauty", it doesn't come accross the same way.

Ahhh...my first New Year's resolution!

They will have to attribute it anyway one way or another, so just send it in as a regrade.
Nice coin by the way.
