  • Hmmmmmm I wonder
  • Why doesn't this person have more negative feedbacks than they do?
  • I think thats what a lot of people want these days I have saw a lot
of these coins running around. They usually sell for high dollars.

AT, IMHO. Nothin' says lovin' like somethin' from th' oven. (about 350 degrees for a couple hr)
I'm the Proud recipient of a genuine "you suck" award dated 1/24/05. I was accepted into the "Circle of Trust" on 3/9/09.
  • artificially toned problematic coins ~ a great way to make money in a toned coin hungry market

the seller 's technique has improved, but isn't quite there yet...
  • tonecoin has had alot of threads - in the US coins (or maybe NGCs) someone had even discovered his "buying" identification and showed 4-5 coins that where purchased by "buyer" and where improved in about 3 weeks sold by "tonecoin"
  • If you read through his negative feedbacks - you will see where he admits they are AT. One one feedback someone said:

Complaint : These coins are cleaned by machine and artificially toned!
Response by tonecoin2003 - DON'T WANT TO RETURN AND GIVE ME NEGATIVE? NEVER CLEANED BY ANY MACHINE!

    and anther neg:

Complaint : Consumer Fraud? Seller acknowledged Accelerated/Non-natural toning via E-mail!
Response by tonecoin2003 - this idiot had to know how to tone coins, how could i know? don't want to return
Follow-up by feyms@aol.com - Coin retained as evidence in ongoing investigation. Seller knew! Came clean in E

Oh well. Call the guy a capitalist - like so many out there.

  • Jamie, you're right. I saw the Iowa commemorative up for bid and thought it was too good to be true. I've scrolled through the entire feedback list and, WOW, the seller does admit manufacturing the toning. What a waste! I was always taught that we are merely temporary custodians of our coins, and to take every precaution to care for them. I've never dipped, rubbed, polished, or done anything to a coin other than to display and store them.

Looks like we found the grinch . . . image
