How to...FUN Heritage Auctions?

RYKRYK Posts: 35,800 ✭✭✭✭✭
I will be attending FUN next month and am looking forward to attending (but not bidding in) the Green Pond and North Shore collections auctions. I have a few questions:
1. Does one need to pre-register or is it okay to just show up?
2. Is it okay to come-and-go or does etiquette require you to stay for the whole event?
3. Is it okay to sit with a friend, chat, or is it a fairly solemn and businesslike proceedings?

Thanks!

Robert

    1. It's OK to just show up unless you plan on bidding...in which case you would need to pre-register of course.
    2. It's OK to come and go, people are coming in and going out all the time...just try not to knock over the drink cart on the way in or out
    3. It's OK to chat quietly to someone seated next to you, but you shouldn't be trying to talk to the guy 3 rows up. It's fairly buisnesslike, but its not a funeral.

Edited to add: A lot of the serious business folks sit towards the front. It's easier to get in and out of the room inconspicuously if you pick a spot closer to the rear where the exits are.
