E-Bay can really pay off

I have had limited experience with e-Bay, but am becoming a believer.
A specialized dealer was clearing out some of his private inventory stash, and I inquired about a modern coin I needed for my type set. In MS67, it's fairly easy to find and typically sells for $60-$80. The dealer offered to sell me his personal example for $69. Maybe not PQ but very solid for the grade and a fair price. I decided I would shop a bit and see what else turned up so declined his offer.
A few weeks later, the dealer was selling the same exact coin on e-Bay. I put in a couple bids and won the coin for $44. This is a 36% discount to the previous price, is lower than other coins similarly graded and I received the coin yesterday - a really nice example.
Do you have similar experiences to this? I know waiting for a really PQ or special coin would be a mistake because you could miss the opportunity. But I scored on this one.
