Persian Coin, AD 420-438, Varhran V-Sasanian, AR Drachm; NEED Info

I bought this neat coin for $20. It's graded VF45 by ICG image. I'm sure it's worth 1/2 of that, but that's OK. My collecting areas of interest are US Modern Commemoratives; Silver/Gold Eagles, The usual PCGS proof Ikes, SBA's etc.

I would like to find out as much as I can about this interesting small bit of History. Can anyone point me in the right direction to do some research on the coin, the monarch on the obverse, and the "flame alter" with 2 ladies standing on both sides of the alter.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
PCGS sets under The Thomas Collections. Modern Commemoratives @ NGC under "One Coin at a Time". USMC Active 1966 thru 1970" The real War.

  • Welcome to the Dark Side, Thomas!! Can you post scans of each side? That can help a great deal in attributing specific coins as there can be varieties.
