<< <i>BID WITH YOUR HEAD. >>
I have a hard time hitting specific keys on the keyboard with my big ol' melon. Wait...let me try....huyuyj...nope didn't work. Guess I'm out of the the bidding.
Looks like this is his first time selling. Probably hasn't figured out the whole scanning thing yet.
Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
<< <i>well he'll have to ante up the ebay fees now >>
Ooh, that's gonna hurt. I wonder how high the reserve is? Tough lesson to learn.
His terms are very clear, though - love the punctuation:
"I WILL ONLY ACCEPT,MONEY ORDERS,OR CASHIERS CHECK.NO PAYPAL.I EXPECT PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS OF CLOSE OF AUCTION OR IF BUYER USES BUY IT NOW.I WILL SHIP CARD WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECIEVING PAYMENT.BID WITH YOUR HEAD."

David, I've also been cleaning out my garage,
Got stuff that I don't know the lingo for ( books, some kind of bears ?,
a really cool looking dead spider that still has most of his legs ( I think )),
and some other misc garbage that I've put up on eBay that I don't understand.
Bid it up baby, you may hit the mother lode !
"How about a little fire Scarecrow ?"
The seller -
a) No scan for an ungraded card
b) Sets a ridiculous opening bid for an ungraded 75T common
c) Actually bothered to put a reserve on the item
d) Thinks "this card is very difficult to find in this condition" - despite a PSA9 population of 12
e) Has a feedback rating of only 52 - and NO feedback with him as a seller
or
The current bidder who was stupid enough to risk getting stuck with this card at better than $50.
Mike
ooooohh, the irony. . .

<< <i>I think that the current bidder did it as a joke since the reserve still hasn't been met. >>
He basically told you right after he placed his bid!
Not very Politically Correct, but funny nonetheless.

He probably realized that he is going to end up eating the ebay fees and is hoping to cash in before it's too late.
I think this guy deserves the lesson that PC is about to teach him.

HI I AM AUCTIONING OFF A TOPPS 1975 K.C.ROYALS TEAM CARD #72,4 RAZOR SHARP CORNERS,PERFECT CENTERING,FRONT/BACK CLEAN.PSA 8/9?
Me:
If it's such a great card, then get it graded first.
His response:
DAVE-THE REASON I HAVE NOT RATED THEM IS THAT I AM NOT A DEALER.I AM COLLECTOR.THESE CARDS-WILL McENANEY,PAT DOBSON,ELLIE RODRIGUEZ,JIM KATT,GEOFF ZAHN,GEORGE HENDRICK,CHRIS WARD,BILL HANDS,K.C.ROYALS TEAM ARE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX-THEY ARE ALL PSA 8/9.I ALSO AM NOT CHARGING DEALER PRICES.
What I wrote him:
Ed -- You don't have to be a dealer to submit to PSA. That being said, people who are building PSA Registry sets are only interested in buying PSA garded cards for the most part. Especially on 1975 Topps, where the difference between the selling price of an 8 to a 9 might be $5 versus $30, people are not going to bid on your raw cards as if they were already graded. Furthermore, you didn't even bother to take the time to make a scan of any of your cards. Then you say that "I ALSO AM NOT CHARGING DEALER PRICES", when the fact is, your opening bids are higher than what PSA 8 versions of those same cards sell for and the reserve isn't even met! I don't mind unsolicited e-mails for the most part, but it helps if you know your audience. You have not bothered to due any due diligence as to your buyers, the set, its values, or even how to do a basic eBay listing well. I suggest that you do so before wasting any more of your money on eBay listing fees.
I did on a few!

Mike,
the current bidder "is",not "was" and the adverb "enough" seems superfluous while
suggesting to me the probability of your having a writing level equalling that of a 3rd grader.
i realize collecting cards does not require a passing grade in elementary school although
it helps and your reading comprehension shall benefit from a stronger eyeglass prescription
or extensive private reading tutorials.as you are unaware i'll volunteer to explain and for you keep this VERY simple.
the current bidder is risking less than $50.00 rather than the "better than $50." that you find stupid or
stupid "enough".at this time there is insufficient evidence of a bid greater than $50.00.however in the
true spirit of Ebay auctions i welcome your higher bid,now expect it from you and will brace myself for the
inevitable and infamous castaldi snipe.thank you for your concern and to quote my friend Greg Schwartz,"Bring It On".
in lieu of copies of dale carnegie's book How To Win Friends And Influence People
please send donations to Mike for the diagnosis and we hope cure of his ADD or ADHD.
In the future, please help those of us with ADD/ADHD by typing your rants in complete sentences and using proper parargraph structure. Capitalizing the first word of each sentence helps us too. I have enough problems reading my own one-line bullet points, to make it so difficult for me is simply not playing fair.
Have a happy holiday.

DAVE-I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING FOR A LONG TIME AND HAVE MANY COMPLETE SETS,50'S,60'S AND 70'S.A MINT CARD TO ME IS ONE THAT IS WELL CENTERED,4 SHARP CORNERS AND CLEAN BACK/FRONT.THESE GRADING SERVICES ARE ALL ABOUT MONEY.I'LL GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE.....SEND 2 CARDS TO ANY GRADING SERVICE TO BE GRADED,WHEN YOU GET THEM BACK TAKE THEM OUT OF THE PLASTIC CASE WITH THEIR GRADE ON THEM,THEN,SEND THOSE 2 WITH 30 OTHER CARDS TO SAME GRADING SERVICE AND I GUARANTE YOU THEY ARE GRADED HIGHER.WHY DO YOU THINK THE DEALERS WHO DO BIG BUSINESS WITH THEM HAVE PSA 9/10's.thanks.let me know what happens.

I never followed that specific pattern and thats why I'm inundated w/ 7's & 8's, I will follow his lead to a prosperous 2004 ...jay

I might try selling something like that BUT have the reserve at the opening bid - just to catch the people trying to teach a lesson
