.01c and the guy I beat out was very nice. It was on an old photograph of sort of a landmark in my area........an old Penn. RR Roundhouse.

He ended up borrowing the pic and making copies of it and paying me for all or half of it.

What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

In two cases, once on eBay just a couple days ago, and once on Yahoo about three years ago Iwon a tie bid auction in which a sniper tied my bid at the last moment. Since I had bid first I was the winning bidder in both cases. Niether case involved coins. One was a photography book and the other was art supplies.
There have been several other cases where my winning bid was just a few cents above the underbidder.
    All glory is fleeting.
