It's one of the toughest, if not THE toughest card in the 1961 Topps set. This is the card Buckwheat once told me he'd trade his first born son for. If you've ever been to his website, you know you'd be getting a good deal. His son designed and programmed the site.
61 Repulski PSA 8
For the record, I dropped out long ago. I wonder how high it will go?

But it's nice to see Davalillo stepping up to the plate for some of the low pops that he needs so badly. You just shouldn't have played such a pup, Jimbo.
there have been about 5 of these cards graded in the past 6 months, and all of the big collectors have gotten one, including me. I paid $510 for mine about 4 months ago in a private deal. I think primeeagle paid about $550 for his a month or two ago. I know others who paid about the same price. So the price is down some, but not much considering the number of new 8's in the past few months.
Ouch! I'm happy with my 7 at under $25. (And my two 6's and a 5...lol)
You are correct. I have the view that the lower pop cards from the 60s will come down in price so I am not interested in chasing them.
I could be wrong but in the meantime finding plenty of stuff to buy.

Smart move. Prices for the most part should continue to drop.

Buckwheat(Rob) thinks differently but I am convinced that there is tons of material fromm the semi-vintage decade(60s) and lowpops will come down in price. They have for certain sets in the 50s where the pops are likely to remain a lot lower than the 60s.
Buckwheat is a good guy. His website is awesome and has some great cards. I grabbed one
and hope to grab others some day. And I don't want to sound like I know 61's better than
him. I don't. But I got to think pops will continue to increase for them especially nm/mt cards.
And since you are working on so many other sets it makes better sense to get the cards you
need that are priced right and wait to see the direction of a card like the 61 Rip. Do we really
think the pop's of 8's will stay in single digits?
Finally, with the scan of this card in the auction was this a high grade or low grade 8? Can
anyone tell for sure? How was the back of the card? Without asking the seller a question
no one knows the answer for sure. So you drop close to 4 bills for a nm/mt graded common
that could be cra-p. I'd be disappointed if this card was low end...especially if you could
get a decent 7 for $25.
Again, I'm as crazy as the next guy when I buy graded cards. I'll pay what it takes at times.
I just think you need to pick your spots. This was not one of them to me.
