Honest (darkside) coin shops in the Chicago area?

Does anyone know of any coin shops in the Chicago, Illinois area that deal in darkside coins?

I am looking to sell 7 Whitman Classic Albums

British Halfpennies 1860-1901, with 15 coins in low grade

1902-1936, with 31 coins in better grades

1937-1967; with all 32 coins in high grades


British Pennies 1860-1901, with 17 coins in low grade

1902-1936, with 36 coins in better grades

1937-1966, with 20 coins in high grades (missing only the 1951)


Canadian Fifty Cent 1937-1987, with 27 of the silver halves in high grade (missing the 1937, '38, '47ML, '47 straight 7, '47 curved 7, '48, and '53 small date) and 18 of the pure nickel coins in high grades (they actually look like proofs).

I took these to Distinctive Coins in Downers Grove, Illinois today and the guy there quoted me a price for the whole lot that was well below the melt value of the canadian silver halves alone. When I said "no thanks" and picked them up and put them back in the box to leave he started screaming that I was just looking for an apprasial so that I could sell them "down the street". I just wanted an honest offer but IMHO this guy must have assumed I was a sucker.

Burbs. The only dealer downtown that I trust is Harlan Berk.

I just got back from Harlan Berk and they were the ones I was going to suggest. I eavesdrop on their offers and they seem like straight-shooters.
