Kids, Coins, and Christmas

So,

I get a few bags of Ikes today and the wife is getting Xmas stuff together. On her side, 2 of her sisters have a total of 8 kids. All under 16.
They are getting normal gifts and then I am thinking..hmmmm

So, as a "test" to see if they have an interest and aren't just saying "yes" to make me happy or anything, I asked her to take and give them 1 Ike each.
Not AU or above but just a normal circ one.

I can almost guarantee they have never seen one. So, if they hold onto it and think it is cool and want to know more or get more, then I have a YN possibility.
If they just think "money", or "It's only a dollar", then I know that whatever coinage they would get is probably not longterm.

Just my way of thinking.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

You're right!...This is how I've done it for the past several years with my boys. Out of four, I've only peeked the interest of my 9yr. old.; whereas, it used to be my 11 yr. old when he was 8. The others have coins; but they're not like I was with my dad, always pulling coins out the box and looking them over with pop. My 9 yr. old does this with me...IT'S COOL. He's inquired about attending coin exhibits with me....I'm determined to have one YN out of the family...image
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
