Someone steps up to the plate about PRO Grading

Check out this auction....

PRO Disclaimer

This guy really lays it out there for all to read. Shooting down PRO and the sellers who use it. I actually thought this was great, now if only the majority of collector's actually picked it up in their canned searches we'd have something.

But is he really selling a card? Or just informing the public?? My guess is he got burned and this is his form of payback to PRO. Negative advertising.

Anyway, props to you samsammy!!

  • There is another post about this.
  • Wow, this is interesting! Definitely a "top rope" slam on PRO. I support his stand though.

But that card is Gem Mint!
  • Since I spend more time reading on the cough beckett cough board... I noticed similar post. The same seller of this auction posted on the other board about a pro graded card 4sale by t2inc. He asked that "we all run the price up real high and stick the seller with listing fee's" Sammy23sammy was willing to be high bidder even as high as a million dollars from what he said. Then the seller would be stuck with listing fees. You would think someone like sammy23sammy having a decent feedback would be well aware of the NPB that he would be getting and that t2inc would get his funds back through ebay.

As much as I like the idea of the auction, the guy is a putz.

I've seen similar things done in the past and since he's not auctioning anything, eBay by their policy should shut it down. I also noticed that he shut it down and re-listed it.
  • We all agree on some level that this is true.... However I KNOW that it's not quite as bad as some think. I have had several cards actually returned as trimmed from PRO. I have been working on a T206 set and have PSA grade them, the one's that "fail" PSA go to another company - for the sole purpose to have them encapsuled. I had heard on here more than once that PRO grades anything, so I figured I'd just send them there for a few dollars and have them encapsuled. Amazingly 1/2 of the 20 or so i sent in came back labeled trimmed. Perhaps it's just the nature of the cards or their respective trim jobs that caused no grades, but still. Not sure what my point is here anymore. lol.... oh yea. PRO oddly enough, doesn't grade EVERYTHING, just MOST image
  • At least he's doing something.
