1972-D Peg Leg Ike - Info?

I just received some Ikes from an Ebay auction and I noticed that one of the 1972-D's had the Peg Leg "R". I figure that it's an MS65 coin. What is the relative rarity of this variety? Does PCGS recognize it? ANACS? Of course there's that always favorite question, how much is it worth? Any help is appreciated. Thanks image.
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!

There was a thread to talk about 72-D Peg Leg. This might be the second found image

I actually have one as well. Not a MS65 though. And there's another Board member who apparently has quite a few. He didn't say how many. I asked Tad (supercoin & resident Ike specialist/expert) and he didn't know anything about them.

However there will be something mentioned about them in a new Ike book about to be released.

In short, hold that coin. We have no idea of the rarity factor. I am at a loss to explain why a 72-D should have a Peg-Leg, unless Denver had used a former proof die for the coin.

    Hope that helps,
    Michael
