Nice Christmas surprise

I came home from work tonight and while checking my mail, found a very nice Christmas present from Canadiancoinguy. Included with the Christmas card, which depicted some lovely cardinals with info about them on the back (I'm an avid birdwatcher), were not only stamps depicting the tall ships in Halifax, but
also a very pretty BU 1955 Portuguese 10 escudos depicting a lovely ship. I'm not sure what ship it is, but I love it!

Thanks so much for this lovely gift, Ccg! Please excuse the picture quality. I took them with my scanner, as I have not yet mastered the new digital camera with coins photos.

    It seems to be my icon!!!!imageimage And it is "Pyrenenian Carrack", they depicted that vessel on their 2.5$, 5 and 10 escudos silver coins, I have all these 3 denominations (present from my parents) in my shipcoins theme collection. Great coin and in a very nice condition!!!image

    P.S. Hey, you have a nice tradition in Canada with those "Christmas suprises" isn't it image

    P.P.S. Susan, even you are not in Canada now , I like the tradition!! BTW , for some reason your icon is a favourite one of my younger son (2.5 year). When I try to write my next silly message to forum at home, he used to jump on me and ask me to find "that spinning Maple Leaf"imageimage

    When I said "tradition" I mean that you made such a surprise to Newbie, and when I saw Maple Leaf, I said "Canadian"imageimage
