1959 Topps question

GAI graded this one a 9. There's a note about it being a 'Presentation'... I'm assuming this is coming from a 'presentation' set then? Does PSA grade these in crossovers? Anyone have any experience with these kinds of cards?

I've always had my doubts about these so-called presentation sets. From what I've gathered over the years....Evidentally in the late 1950's to mid 1960's Topps would hand out albums containing an entire set of cards to certain people -- executives, associates, top customers, etc. The cards were mounted on pages using those old-fashioned pasted-on triangular corner hinges. I recall buying cards in the late 1980's or early 1990's from a dealer who said they were from a presentation set. I could see very slight diagonal indentations caused by the corner hinges, so I returned the cards for a refund. The cards in presentation sets were hand-selected for being well printed -- free of defects.
In my opinion, just because a card came from a presentation set doesn't mean it's any more special than a card from a pack. I think each card must be judged on its on merit. And who really knows whether a given card came from a presentation set unless they took it from the album themselves? I see no premium value for any presentation set cards. As I said, they must be judged on their own merit.
