    well, about book on the 52 and 53 set. The others about $40 over my 2000 ed. prices.

    I have both the 7 coin set and the 9 coin set for 1969......I bought the 9 coin set minus the gold for about $50 and finally after 18 months found the proof golds to put back into it....I think I put about $200 into the set as a whole........need to replace both 1 Rand Silvers though, one has nice color but is hazy and the other is just hazy. The proof golds are nice deep cameos. If i had the money, I'd be tempted to offer a flat rate for the group. Maybe $190 each.........there-abouts.

    That seller ran an auction for a 78 set group last week. Starting bid was about $2500, no bidders. I bought a couple of sets from him off ebay today. image

    the cents in mine are kinda dark as well.........may try to replace them eventually too...had a bear of a time finding the proof golds to put in it......I had found some BU golds to hold their place though, paid about $90 for the pair.

    I have a 1953 set with gold. Impressive with nice toning. Thought about bidding on that '52 set, but have to stop purchasing until FUN. image

    Indeed, they all have the same ugly dude on front, but the reverses are all nice. Wish i could capture the color of this silver 1 Rand of mine....it gots an awesome pink and green and yellow.

    I haven't really gotten into those yet. I'm only collecting the Union of South Africa coins, from 1923-1960.

    What is the current exchange rate for Rands to Dollars??

    more sets added!! image I snagged the 1951 set! image The 1952 set is a bargain at $35, but I already have one.
