FBL 1953-S Franklins

David,

I wonder if all the '53-S FBLs came from the same die. I've heard most, if not all are from mint sets. I also heard the dies were set up at lower pressure to spit them out faster. So maybe there was just one set up, perhaps, even for just part of the run, with enough pressure to make a few FBLs.

Can you shed any light on this?

Thanks,
Greg

    Hi Greg,

Since the 53-S Franklin is so tough in FBL I guess there's the possibility that the FBLs all came from the same die. I haven't heard this theory before. and personally I'm a little skeptical. However, I don't have a lot of knowledge on the subject. Sorry I can't be of more help.
