10 Centimes 1907 Dupuis

The 10 centimes piece shown here is a beauty and one of the reasons I think it could give the British Penny a run for the money. A comment was made the other day that the highly stylized helms that adorn Marianne on medals are not seen on coins. Well, here is one such-

not sure I would have seen this on american E-bay. I'd like to bid but they'll want cash-I don't see paypal. Sigh...

I agree with DH. The coin appears worn, and unnaturally colored. But it's a beautiful design. Much more beautiful than British coins, in fact.image

I think tha Darkhorse an tha Jester are right.

Nice, unmonkeyed specimens of these 10c. should be easy to find in the US for a decent price. In fact, someone must have fell into a mini-hoard of mint state pieces in the last 2 years because PCGS slabbed several that were 66RD and up.....anyway, my advice is to keep looking. image

This is a classic case of never sit in front of your computer without your spectacles. My 2 year old grandson evidently took offense at the glasses which I keep with my computer as he had rendered it into some rather basic components by the time I returned home the other evening.

Being too lazy to go upstairs for another pair I searched for this coin and glanced at it fuzzily and quickly once I found it. When I logged on again (with glasses) I was horrified at what I posted. I actually have a nice UNC specimen that shows some red and is well struck.

At least I won't bid without glassesimage
