How I choose to sell off my complete 1972 Topps set

Hi Guys, This topic was of interest to me because I am currently selling my 1972 Topps set (4th on the registry). I built this set using 30% ebay , 5% shows and 65% from about 5-10 major collectors and dealers. The ones that helped me the most were Mickey at Mickey's sportscards, The great Frank Bakka and Steve Pecovich along with many other 1972 Topps collectors. I have found that once you find 5-10 honest sellers, they can really help you in filling in that dream set. On the flip side, once you are willing to sell, try to be like those dealers that you liked working with so much. Be up front, honest and humble when a buyer knocks on your door. So far I hope that I have done them proud. I have been able to sell over 300 cards so far without paying a single ebay fee. In some cases I am up to my fourth private deal with some collectors. They have seen that I hold dear to my word and they come back for more when they have more cash to spend. Beside, who knows better how much these low pop cards are really worth then the other collectors trying to get them the way that you once did. I respect my 1972 Topps family and I hope that they respect me enough to now let me help them with their sets. I suppose that I will start to sell on Ebay once I get down to 200-300 cards left. But for now, I enjoy the personal touch in selling and helping my PSA registry friends first. Afterwards I will worry about selling to the rest of the collector on ebay. Neil

Our transaction was brief but you made me a very happy customer in selling me two cards I needed to complete my 1972 Angels Team set. One of the cards was the 1972 Nolan Ryan PSA 8 which was my "holy grail" since I'm on a pretty strict budget. Your patience and honesty in this deal was greatly appreciated. Good luck with your future ventures.
