What is your coin collecting goal in 2004?

I would like to finish my seated liberty coins that are needed for my 1792-1964 type set.

Not to spend as much money as I did the past 2 years. image

    My Registry goals:

To improve on my Circ Type Sets and work on a couple of new sets. For one, I started a Proof Kennedy Short Set to stay in Russ's good graces. image

I may also add a Washington Quarter 32-64 set across the street. I've already got a few in their holders and don't feel like playing the cross game to add it here.

There are going to be a few new Type Sets added to the Registry. I'll probably dabble in those too.

    My collecting goals:

Collect as I have in the past and look for the coin that soots my eyes and needs. Coin shops, local auctions, local coin shows, and what ever else pops up.

I really, really want to find some DCAM SMS coins for my Proof Kennedy Short Set.
Would like to finish my Two Cent Piece set, but more likely it'll be all but the 1872.

My other goal is a secret. image

Same as last year and this year.....get a 21P or 21D Merc Dime in atleast MS63. Two chances were had this year but I guess a cheap son of a gun never gets the coin. image A couple of upgrades would work out nicely also.

Nice toned raw Roosies and Washingtons will be purchased if they can be found.

    1. Try to make a pop-1 MS67FB Roosevelt dime.....there are still 3 dates for which a silver MS67FB doesn't exist: 57P, 58P, and 63P.

    2. Work on my 1792-1964 type set and get it 50% complete. Continue to learn more about US coinage.

I'd like to complete my MS Lincoln Set. I've still got about 20% to go. I do have the 14-D and SVDB knocked out, though.

Just keep hammering on the Lincolns. I figure I've got about three more years before my set will be complete.

Guess that's not a collecting goal, at least not for me. For me...to add at least one coin to my collection. Think I can manage?

I want to find 5 of the 6 Mercs I need to complete my set, leaving only the '16-D for 2005(?). I also want to add to my 1933-1947 Walker set, and buy a couple type coins.

Like Russ, I have a "secret set" that I hope to unveil early in 2004, but I need one coin to complete it.

Add or upgrade one coin for each of my major sets (uncirculated Mercs, Buffalos; proof wheat ear Lincolns, Jeffersons, and Walkers).
Sell some of my duplicates (triplicates, quads...).
    Focus my coin collecting better.
Like FrattLaw, buy and learn to use a digital camera to take nice coin pictures.

This sounds too much like New Year's resolutionsimage

I would like to add two coins to my type set. If I find the right 1866 nickel with rays I will have all the nickel types. I recently completed all the small cent types. So I guess I will join jcping in looking for a seated type coin.

A handy tip: don't just strick to the change you receive. Also check the take-a-penny leave-a-penny and look on the floor in front of the counter.

It would be nice to be able to complete the Mercury Dimes.

    I still need 1919-s, 1924-s, 1925-d, 1925-s, and 1927-s. Then I would like to upgrade the 1916-d, 1921, and 1921-d.

I would like to upgrade the Kennedy 1964-1970-S proof and SMS short set, too.

The 72(s) Ike in PCGS-MS69 appears in the Heritage FUN sale - it will be interesting to see what that does, considering the 74(s) commanded nearly $10,000 when it sold earlier this year at Heritage.
