A "BIG" Congrats to Colorfulcoins

I just noticed that Craig just completed his Roosie set with 100% FB coins. Only the 4th complete
FB Roosie set to be registered. It looks like he's closing in fast on that #2 spot. A great accomplishment
Craig. Especially since you had to make double FB's of many of the hard dates to do it. Craig has been
helping me with my set ever since I registered it. He has made many of those dates twice because the
first one went into my set. Craig is one dedicated Roosie Collector and I believe all of the top 5 sets
have a coin or a few coins in them that came from Craig.

Great job Craig! Craig has the kind of collection that is every collector's dream - none of the "fancy label" mega-grades at "wallet ripping" prices. Just a ROCK SOLID collection of 48 wonderfully toned jewels - the kind of collection that brings MULTIPLES of typical values for the grades affixed to the holders when it is eventually sold. Congrats again!! image

Thanks to all - this is a labor of love..........toned coins that is and the FB designation while a disruption, has allowed me to again seek out "new" coins upon which to build my set. When PCGS "turned on" the FB rating last September, my set graded out at 68.12 and I was in 6th place. I made myself a resolution that I would work my set and do 2 things:

    1. Get 100% FB designated coins by 1/1/2004 (and I did it on 12/11/2003)
    2. Get my point average up to 68.67 by 1/1/2004 (and did it on 12/08/2003)

So I'm very pleased that I accomplished my 2003 Rosy goals!

Nick as far as closing in on #2, ha ha ha ha ha. Billy Walser has a GREAT set and the going gets tougher and tougher. Other than a couple "easy" upgrades, the remaining coins I need to catch up are all low pop coins - 53P pop3, 54S pop2, 55P pop4, 55S pop2, 61P pop2, 63D pop2.......a supreme uphill challenge! Not to mention finding eye appealing toned coins.

As far as sharing, I've sold coins to all the top 7 sets except Wondercoin who does a pretty darned good job of making his own!

Now, if anyone has some pretty MS67 non-band or banded coins for sale..............LET ME KNOW! image

    Craig,
A very remarkable achievment completing the 1946-1964 Roosie set with FB's. My hat is off too you.

And...A very well deserving thanks for the 1987-D MS68 you sold to me about a month ago!

Forget it Craig, you are officially a FB guy...all those non-FB color coins are for poor people like me.....we can't collect the best, but at least we deserve some color!!!!!!!!!imageimageimage

Bill, we ALL know you are not poor - you reminded all of us about that 54D MS67 that you bought at Long Beach in 2002.....and buddy, that wasn't a poor man's price BY ANY MEANS! Please, don't make me type what you paid as you'll lose credibility as a "poor" non-band guy - and BTW, I recall that dime had Full Bands!!!! Now, no more sniveling! Go buy some toned sets and send me the pretty banded coins!

  • Congratulations Craig! A remarkable achievement in record time. Not only completing your own set in FB but from what I've read, helping everybody else out along the way. And to top it off somewhere in between all this you continue to find the time to help me with my (our) Washington quarter set. A class act indeed, thank you!

My hat is off to you Craig.
I am just beginning (first steps) my journey for full band Rooseys.
Honestly,at this time I own ZERO full band coins, (according to the
    official PCGS Label).
I believe it will be very difficult to assemble 48 different coins for my set(s).
My first order of business is to see how many of my own coins will be awarded
the full-band label. Once I know what I have myself, then I will be able to seek
    those dates I don't have.
I am sure (and hope) that you will be able to help me out along the way.

The question still begs to be asked, 'Why did you not go for the designation review when they were $5 each??'

Perhaps at the time you were still undecided about pursuing FB's?

    GREG:
I was not a happy camper when PCGS pushed the full band down my throat.
I just decided to take my ball and go home (for at least one year).
The $5 review charge, didn't cure the bitter taste that I had in my mouth at the time.
I will get all of my dimes sent to PCGS eventually, (those that I think have a
    shot at full band).
