OT - Dark Side: coincidence or not?

I joined this forum back in May 2002 and I found that the term used when one turns to collecting world coins is going over to the dark side. I also visit another forum (Glock Talk) which I joined in Jun 2001 and found that the term used when one gets into Glocks is going over to the dark side (could be because Glocks are black). So now I am wondering if somebody from here introduced the term to Glock Talk or somebody from Glock Talk introduced the term here or it is just a coincidence. Whichever way it is, I seem to be always drawn to the dark side. image

Maybe Glocks are considered darkside because they're 1) plastic, 2) DA, 3) foreign??? Just a guess.

Hear the call of the Dark!

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5

"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
  • I introduced the term here, so I can authoritatively say it had nothing to do with the Glock ... whether our usage here influenced the Glock aficionados, I can't say, but I rather doubt it.image At least we now know what our weapon of choice must be! image

I have no idea what any of that stuff means, so I guess that means I'm "in the dark"? image

As a matter o' fact, I did have a tad too much egg nog. We sent about three gallons out to the lobby for a big reception the other night, and I partook thereof (before we "fortified" it with brandy).

It was good, but I think I've probably had my quota for the year. It didn't sit pretty.
