Congrats to Garry Hoft on taking over the #1 spot for 1964 Topps Hockey

It's a very challenging set and he is a great guy! His set is full of pics. Here's a link:

That set is a monster in the hockey world.....high grade stuff is TOUGH.

    Congratulations!!!

Oh yea...congrats Alan on picking up the Horton...I remember you posting that it was one of your favorite cards.

  • this is one of the top 5 toughest vintage hockey sets, along with 66 topps, 54 topps, 55 parkhurst, and 51 parkhurst (in my opinion)

    quite an accomplishment
  • Yes, quite an accomplishment. When I was actively collecting the Tall Boys in the early 1990's, I literally searched thru hundreds and very few were worthy of buying, and even fewer of these would have been PSA 8's! Quite a majestic set of cards.....great colour and portraits!

The first person in the PSA universe to complete the 1969 OPC
Hockey set! Always looking to buy, trade or upgrade 1966 Topps to 1969 OPC.
  • Hey Alan

    Thanks I just saw this...

  • Congrats autosoft !!!

He's a great guy and his set is awesome.
Are you still going to upgrade ?
It seems like these PSA 8's aren't showing up on ebay anymore.

Goodriddance - the most difficult hockey set from 1951 onward is the hockey
set that never gets any attention because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get.
The experts say that it is 15X tougher than the regular version, but
the 1955-56 pop reports show that is is 75X tougher to get a PSA 8 card in
the Quaker Oats version than in the 1955-56 parkie regular issue.
It is so much tougher than the 1966 Topps test issue if we are including them
    as mainstream vintage hockey sets.
