Study Liberty herself as shown in type I and II versus type III (1877 and after) and after studying her tell me if you see any difference?
As with any person progressing in years, she seems to have gained a tad of weight. Her neck is no longer straight and her face is fuller. This probably is what required her to be positioned slight more towards the right.
Am I close?
I just reviewed your set.
When I grow up I wanna be just like you.
Can someone put them side by side?
Well, The first thing I noticed is that the type 3 looks to need a shave real bad. Liberty seems less feminine but I cant put my finger on what difference is exactly?
The one thing I do see that stands out besides the detail of the hair is the that the figure of Liberty has moved away from the star at the 12:00 position.
Waldo,
Thanks! The series spans some the most interesting history in our country. Besides, it's GOLD!!!

Interesting. I was comparing the 57s from Albanese web site (off of the PCGS authorized dealers) to the 1904 listed on the same site. I can't figure out how to move the pictures to show you. I see what I described, but in your example, it certainly does not seem to be the case. I don't own any I's or II's yet so I am relying on pics. So..... What's the differences? Any clues besides the repositioning that Debigkahuna also noted? In the two pics you have provided, the Type III has much finer hair detail, but is that strike, wear or design?
