Nice coins and decent values as far as catalog prices go.

Problem is buyers are few and far between. As such many coins have substantial discounts and when it comes time to sell dealers aren't willing to pay much.

The Antillies seem more popular than the Mother country.

Netherlands appears out of favor at the present time as are other countries. (Belgium comes to mind)
The most money I made are on coins I haven't sold.

    Got quoins?
  • Thanks for the info... I do have a few Antillies.... I just did not post them now..

    Thanks again.

The prices on these moderns are probably overstated by Krause. They are great
coins and were not saved in massive quantities as many coins were but these are
not that difficult to find and the demand is not substantially greater than for similar
coins. There are many of the later date coins which list for a few dollars which are
nearly impossible to find and these will more likely bring catalog prices when sold.
Even with these though, there is limited demand for later date coins and finding a
    buyer can be difficult sometimes.

  • I think your coins, and photography are great newbie! In my time period the really expensive coins are the ones from Nappy's bro Louis as King. Before and after they are available at reasonable prices in decent grades but for those few years coin and medal prices are astronomical!

What on earth are your first two Wayneimage

The Antilles are also known as the "West Indies". Here's one from the East Indies. (The true color is very similar to your 1959 coin.)

  • Well thank you all for the comments......... I do have a few more modern and older ones which I will photo and post later.

Some of these more modern ones ( that I have ) are in great condition, in my opinion anyway.

  • Nice. If it's of any interest, I have a tentative grading guide for cents with scans HERE, about 1/3 the way down the page. It needs improving but I haven't gotten around to it.

BTW I have both books on pricing dutch coins (mevius and NVMH), and those prices are very well in comparison with the dealers prices.

    Dennis
  • Thanks Dennis. I look forward to get an idea on prices.
    I have a few more i could post......image

    Allright, here we go......

Wayne, your first coin,(Nederlandse Antillen 1 c 1961 in dutch) is worth around $4.
The second one, Nederlands Antillen 2 1/2 c 1959 is worth around $12
The third one, Nederland 2 1/2 c 1877 is worth around 5 $ it is the first year coin from that type.

The nederland, 1 c 1916 is worth around 40$ it is a really nice FDC (kind of a mint state) example.

    Cheers,
    Dennis
  • Thanks D88....... Much appreciated.......image

I was in the Netherlands for a few hours earlier this week. Love Schiphol airport! Schiphol is the best place in Europe to get a wide cross-section of Euros.

I was also in Madrid for 24 hours this week and Frankfurt for about 1 hour. I'm now in Singapore til after Christmas image
