Wow! What biting sarcasm! Gotta love all of them even though the second one is anti-American!

Gee, Goetz really had a thing for phallic symbols didn't he? Opus 274 is just a tad bit suggestive, hmm? image

I find those, like much of his work, ugly but interesting. What's the rundown on the Opus 215? Uncle Sam and John Bull (and a tiny Frenchman?) tying up a prostrate Germany after WW1? Something to do with the Treaty of Versailles? Translation, please?

That, or somebody at the Solingen factory had a bad day and turned out some sadly deficient merchandise!
With swords like that, no wonder they lost WW1! (not that swords had much impact in the trenches...)

Actually, the sword is French...the medal criticizes the French justice on the Rhine for their occupation troops. This medal implies that the German women are free objects to be hunted by colonial troops of the French and that German residences were converted into brothels by the French military authorities. I think you get the picture...
  • He's also attacking the sanctimoniousness of the Allies for agreeing to an armistice and yet continuing the blockade against Germany -- which badly needed foodstuffs, medicine, etc. for its civilian population.
