Where are the 64 and up FBL '53-Ss???

For the '53-S Franklins, PCGS has graded
12 64FBL
19 65FBL
1 66FBL.

In the registry I found:
3 64FBLs
8 65FBLs
1 66FBL

So where are the other 9 64FBLs and 11 65FBLs?

    Crackouts???
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • I don't know. I might add that I would imagine that some of these so called FBL coins are not acceptable to some die hard collectors.

Crackouts??? Given the enormous (even that is an understatement) difference in price between one with the FBL designation, and one without, I've wondered if any one has actaully cracked one of these instead of just a regrade. The FBLs on these are generally not like those on say a '48-D or '49-D (i.e., the kind you can almost cut your finger on).
