Question about 1965 O-Pee-Chee Baseball

Can someone please explain to me how to distinguish a 1965 O-Pee-Chee card from its Topps counterpart. I always thought that if the card said Printed in Canada on the back it was an OPC. I have recently sent some to PSA for grading and they were returned as Topps. Please let me know.

  • I maybe wrong but I do believe that this set was smaller than its Topps counterpart. I would check in the SCD catalog. They do say printed in Canada on the back of them. It might just be a mistake that was made. Paul
  • Psa mislabels opc cards as topps quite frequently (and they will re-holder them at no charge) The 2 most distinguishing features that differentiate an opc from a topps in 1965 is the color of the back of the card (topps is blue with white, opc is blue with grey), and opc does say "Ptd in Canada". Which cards did you get graded? (I might be interested). My email is hbsturn@hotmail.com Harold
  • Do the OPC cards still say Topps in the baseball in the upper left hand corner of the card back?

  • Yes, they say TOPPS in the baseball in the upper left corner and on the lower right corner say T.C.G. PRINTED IN CANADA
