Does anyone have any idea what this Canadian Dollar (PL67) might be worth?

    Copied this 1956 ................... heavy cameo MS-63 $129.00 1956 ............... mishandled PROOF-LIKE $ 39.50 from
calgary coin and antique Opposite ends of the extremes although the heavy cameo listed is only MS63 vs your MS67.

Edited to add: from Larry and Ira Goldberg auction page :Lot 223 CANADA. Dollar, 1956. KM-54. PCGS graded MS-67 Prooflike. Estimated Value $100-125. auction This auction though is from 2000, so it really isn't up to date.

Guess this means you won't be selling it for $50?

I think the 1956 is a better date in high grade such as yours... I have no Canadian catalog handy, but I would think somewhere in the $195-$300 range is reasonable, but that could even be low.

I think one went recently on ebay for $350 but I wasn't tracking it so I couldn't find it again.

I still think it is a better date and $350 would not be a surprise. My 56 is only a MS65.

This is just one of many pieces I'll be bringing back from Sweden to slab with ICCS for my friend. He has a couple hundred high quality "moderns" and quite a few earlier pieces too.

Big value difference between MS67 and PL67.

Cacheman, that's a very pretty dollar! When are you going to Sweden?

Is ICCS the service he wants? Is ICCS really that good? The reason I'm asking is that I wonder if it's a good idea to have coins around PVC. I know they first put the coin in a mylar Saflip, but then they put that inside a PVC flip. I just can't get over that. I don't think it's wise, but I suppose that theoretically, if the Saflip is completely sealed, no fumes will get through. Or will they? Is mylar completely airtight? Why do they play with PVC anyway?image

Yea, verily. PL's are much easier to find in high grade than MS coins.
