1965 BATTLE FOR FIRST PLACE
Duke

I do not usually post but I thought you all should be aware of the friendly battle SRAPPER and I are having for the NO 1 position.I edged him out ever so slightly for 2003 but he is still charging and we are helping each other within the bounds of fair competition. What many of you set builders do not know is that every time Strapper or I add a 9 we make the 8 available at fair prices to other collectors by word of mouth and post any excess on e-bay.This is not a commercial but simply letting you guys know where to find some high end 8's at reasonable prices.Neither of us is a dealer but two guys trying to see how high a grade we can achieve. If any of you have 9's that you want to sell and I need them-please send me an e-mail-I will even include my 8 to repace your 9.You can check my set out on the registry. Some of you have and I want to thank you-check my feedbacks if you have any doubts about my being sincere. The bottom line is I am a collector at heart and might even start a 57 set shortly-DUKE

On a side note, this is what makes the registry and these boards so valuable. I have found, in general, the same sense of partnership in the sets and type cards I currently collect.
CU turns its lonely eyes to you
What's the you say, Mrs Robinson
Vargha bucks have left and gone away?

The Duke is a great guy to deal with. We made a couple of deals over the years that benefited BOTH sides.
Man I miss the Al McBean and Tony Kubek PSA 9 POP 1s.... but the Duke made me an offer I couldnt refuse.
Good guy.

I don't think they have anything at all to worry about.
