What Have We Here???

Check this out!

Check out the seller and the high bidders locations. The high bidder is from the same town and hasn't bought anything in the last year. All of a sudden he is buying 1961 psa 9's.

Is this a no brainer or what? I've bought from skcollectibles in the past and have never had a problem...am I getting paranoid or does something stink here!

  • I checked it out and I was about to dismiss it as coincidence, but then I noticed that the high bidder hasn't received feedback as a buyer for well over 6 months. I went farther back in his feedback and found that 2 of his first few feedbacks were from the seller in question (although they are the only 2 from the seller). It could still be a coincidence, but it does look suspicious.

  • Thanks JEB,

I live on the 61 site and have never noticed that guy bidding. How about you 64 collectors.
The same guy is bidding on all the 64 psa 9's.

  • No question it is a shill. bids by iluvcardzz

And his feedback is all from selling modern cards. feedback

At least he ended up buying two of the cards, so he will have to pay ebay fees.

  • Guy sold a bunch of stuff to Lmayer, so he can't be shilling everything...just the important stuff. How nice of him.

  • ending prices

I added the ending of these auctions. If someone wants to win an auction, I don't think they would bid $49.00 or $149.00.
    I know I wouldn't.

As the price of 9's in some sets are falling, sellers don't have to resort to this stuff. I think the psa 9's were bid up by iluvcardzz and I'll never buy from this seller again. I emailed him with my suspicions...

Can anyone tell me a good reason for not making accusations like this.

  • Thanks. I think I won an auction from this seller in the past month or so. I'll have to check back on it to see if I got shilled. I won't bid on any more of his stuff and I think I'll let him know about it as well.

That name is bidding on most of the cards from 61-67 . It seems like a shill. I wont buy from him if thats the case. Ebay will catch him.

  • I've won two items from him the last 30 days. An 8 and a 9 from different years. Didn't appear to be any shenannigans going on. I got both for less than I expected.

Good detective work, though, John. I'll be suspicious from now on with him.

Just another black eye for dealers and/or big eBay sellers. I wish these tools would leave the hobby.
  • I had to pull this thread back up! This guy shilled everyone that bought from him on the 7th. (3) 1961 topps psa 9 cards sold to his shill bidder. He has them back up on ebay. This crap is going to kill the registry collector. He never answered the blasting emails I sent him, I really didn't expect him to respond. Sellers like this have to be whacked in the pocket, SK stands for SCUM KRAP...

    SAME CERT. #'S

Check out Buckwheats post for the link to the auctions on the 7th.

The first 3 cards on the link have the same cert. #'s as the cards sold on the 7th. The last card, 64 topps Jerry Buchek #314 PSA 9 is also from the 7th. Bought by iluvcardz just like the (3) 61 topps 9's.

  • MX- are you vwc7? If so, nice feedback on SK. He deserved a negative. Cost you 30 bucks.

Here's proof: Check some of iluvcardzz's sales transactions: on his acutions the location of iluvcardzz says Vancouver, WA. I'll give you one guess where SK says they're out of...but I'm betting you won't need it. Too bad there's no way Ebay will fry this guy.
  • Oh wait, you already discovered that...I missed that part in the original post. Carry on, and don't mind me.
  • Looks like board member OhioTaz got zapped for 13 bucks as well.
  • This should just about prove it to anyone who had a doubt. image

Another seller off my list. Thankfully I've never purchased from him.

    motocrosser...

Looks like there is a 3 way shill going on...

Ckeck out the bids bu qualitycards777...Also from Vancover WA.

I live right across the river from Vancover. Sung Kim Park (skcollectables) is his name. I see him at the mall shows and at the Dome show in Tacoma. Might just give him a call in the morning.

I'll let you know what he says.

  • John,

Great detective work!! This guy is obviously shilling.Check out his feedback and look at his ended auctions.JEB provides a great link.I wonder if Mickeysportscards has noticed yet.It seems he got shilled on every card he won from this clown.I will certainly mark this guy down as one to stay away from.

    Larry,

I hope you call this guy.It would be interesting to see what lame excuse he comes up with. You might also direct him to this thread.

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

How stupid is SK? At least have his shill bid on a couple of other cards from somebody else to make it look good.image

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!
  • I'm vwc5, and left the neutral feedback questioning shillling. Another collector contacted him, and was told that iluvcards was his roomate who also collected cards and bought a lot from him as "she" didn't have to pay shipping!!! How lame is that excuse??? And then to relist the cards again.....I guess she changed her mind about these cards.

    Buck,
Doesnt it state that your not allowed to have friends bid on your items in the Ebay rules? That it constitutes shill bidding? Your right that is the worst excuse I think I ever heard.
  • As one who was run up for $26 by this guy.
    This is pretty bad but

ILUVCARDS was the high bidder for both auctions that I 'won' when I made my bids. He/she did not bid again.

It appears that SK uses this ID to set a floor for the price of his cards as opposed to Mickey's who just sets a reserve.

Am I missing something? Other than $26! image
