Wow! Ikes are really heavy

BochimanBochiman Posts: 25,790 ✭✭✭✭✭
I just got 200 of them from my local BofA.
I haven't looked through them yet (just got home and need to eat) but they are pretty dern heavy!
They gave them to me in 4 plastic bags of $50 each (finally....I ordered them 3 weeks ago)

Well, time to fill out a circ Ike set, if I can, and to keep some Ikes......too bad circ Ikes aren't really worth much.

Is there any circ Ike (variety or anything) that is worth more than a buck?

Ron

I did not know you could still get them from the bank. I bank with the same folks. I think it would be neat since I teach I could use them as tokens for good grades and such.....

    Just a thought

I think the 1972 Type 2 might have some value in circulated condition. At least that's what Marty told me, and he's an expert with rubbed coins. image

I didn't know either until someone on RCC mentioned it was possible, so I asked my local merchant teller (that is who would do it in your bank) and it took him ~3 weeks. He said that right after I asked, another 4-5 people asked too, but since I was first, he would fill my request first. He got in 300 of them this week. I had asked for $200 thinking I would get $50 worth.
He kept getting the run around from their central office when he called, he said, but he said when he talked to a gal this week, she was nice as could be and asked how much he wanted then sent them right out.
    Cool for me image

There probably won't be a 76-P t I, they may lack one of the '77's, and
there won't be either of the '73's. There will be lots of most of the others,
especially the early dates and bicentennials.

I think there are some Peg Leg varieties... check Supercoin's site. I've also noted doubling on many Ike reverses. May only be mechanical, but still neat.
