1894 Proof 63 Morgan Dollar

I own an 1894 PR 63 Cameo Morgan Silver Dollar but can't find any pricing information about Proofs anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    From what grading company?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Coin Dealer's Newsletter (greysheet) Quarterly II Supplement has prices for proof Morgans, but not for Cameos.

My copy is from earlier this year, when the PR 63 Bid 1450 Ask 1600, PR64 Bid 2450 Ask 2650.

Your coin is probably worth around $2000 to $2500, depending on a lot of things image

Nice coin! image PCGS' coin price guide ( PCGS Coin Price Guide) says $2150 for a proof, but not a cameo. This is higher than CDN greysheet, which is more accurate.

You can order the CDN newsletter from:

Cameos have a nice premium. I own a 1880 PR63CAM. Had a couple of dealers offer me BID (1425) at the Baltimore Show, because Cameo has no line numbers. At least one knew better and was trying to rip me. I laughed at them.

    Auction results PR63CAM - last 12 months Heritage $2870 (March, 2003 net 2,500) and Teletrade $2,300 (Dec 2002).
