How would I "dip" a flying eagle to remove......

How would I dip it to remove the enviromental dammage from a flying eagle cent? It is actually a nice 1857 in EF, not too cheap. I only paid a couple of $$ for it about 25 years ago!
Thanks in advance for your help.

A now band product call ' Dissolve ' (the active ingredient was harmful) might do the trick. aftercare is with 'Blue Ribbon'. Check with a coin dealer. Some still have access to the active ingredient. It is still available for industrial use.

You can't get rid of environmental damage for the most part and still have the coin as original as possible. If it is an encrustation on the coin, then NCS might help remove it and then slab it (if you want). But the damage is damage and will remain damage.

1957joe, as noted in my reply to your other thread on this topic:

<< <i>1957Joe, if the coin is truly environmentally damaged, there is nothing you can do to reverse that. Sorry.

Try to enjoy it as is, but, if you can't, consider selling it >>
