Jefferson 5c Registry people.....1945P DDR question

Hello Nickel People,

I made in my opinion a very nice find this last week. I purchased 5 1945P DDR nickels grading AU50-58. Is it worth my time and $$ to get them slabbed? I noticed many registry people don't have this coin. Should I send them away? I think this is a rare coin but I don't collect them. One may grade MS60? This is the Big one graded by PCGS. Your opinions are appreciated. image

Thanks, Chris

If the one that may grade MS-60 is full steps, it would be worth grading.

These coins can sell for hundreds in Gem MS65 and better grades, but I'm not
sure what the AU coins go for. Still, a nice find and worth holding or selling.

Should you decide to sell them, they should be worth just as much in ANACS
holders as PCGS or NGC holders as the variety will be certified.

    Congratulations Manorcourtman:

Those are nice coins. But to slab or not slab?

I suggest you see how clear the doubling is. The coins struck early in the die run show the doubling much more clearly than those struck late in the run. My eyes are old and tired, but even so, I can see the doubling on my coin with my naked eyes on the "lo" of Monticello.
A coin where you can do that is worth a premium and probably worth your while slabbing.

    Enjoy,
