Insurance: any lessons learned from recent CA fires?

Has anyone heard any stories (good or bad) about those unfortunate people who lost coin collections in the California fires? Did the insurance companies follow through as they should have? Were there any lessons learned that we all might benefit from hearing?

    My wife works for a broker and there are maximum limitations for coins/jewelry/ etc. You MUST schedule your coins and pay additional monies for the coins covered. Without scheduling, you get ZERO.
    Its a foul ball by a fair margin.
