I know gold crossed the $400.00 mark just the other day. What effect it'll have on the gold coin market is beyond my comprehension. You seem to have purchased your coin at a fairly decent price when you compare...JMO...
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
I've already snagged a couple of nice pieces tonight(Morgans).
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose." John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff
I'm wondering the same thing...I just won two 1928 St Gaudens $20 pieces in last weekend's Superior auction. A PCGS MS62 for $375 (under spot price), and a PCGS MS64 for $525. Even with the 20% buyer's premium added, they are still significantly under the supposed current "value".
Needless to say, I'm very happy with the result
But I also wonder if some people might "know something" alot of us don't

The live auctions typically have higher prices than eBay, so this is not surprising.
Check out a Vanguard Roth IRA.
