MSNS show, Saturday afternoon.
It was a good show. Keets will probably have a detailed report on the Coin forum tomorrow. Lots of Morgans, of course, and some nice classic stuff. A company I never heard of before called Yellow River Rare Coins, from Minnesota, was there. Man and wife team. They had some very, very nice commems. Nice color coins. Also they had probably 2 dozen or more NGC, PCGS Flowing Hair dollars. Nice stuff.
There was lots of gold and raw stuff. I joined the Canadian Numismatic Association and got 6 free books as part of the deal. 3 of them are books I probably would have purchased eventually. Aspen Park Rare Coins had some really nice type stuff, high end, with eye appeal plus. There were several dealers with ancient and world coins. Plus a couple that had some early englsh tokens that were very nice. I also saw a couple nice chain cents, one was a real attractive PCGS F15. Superior coins was there with real nice stuff too. Plus he had a bunch of nice patterns. I saw some currency, but I have no knowledge of that so I can't add more. The ANA was set up and I chatted with the President for a few moments and complimented him on the magazine which is much improved over the older format. I also renewed my membership in the MSNS and bought a nice MSNS 50th anniversary medal for 3 bucks.
The dealers I talked to said the public was buying hot and heavy on Friday and Saturday until late afternoon. It was busy when I got there around 2 pm, but Keets and a couple dealers said it had cleared out a lot by then. I saw some very nice Franklins, and one dealer had a real nice set of PCGS MS Ikes. It was a very good show for a state show.
I picked up a very nice 1871 PEI large cent in AU58, nearly choice for 25 bucks.

Yes,good report woodie.I liked reading it,and i was there all day.
Met keets today(real nice guy),lift him in the auction room,he was still trying to spend his money.
As for my take on the show,it was very good, going back tomorrow.
You are doing well, subject 15837. You are a good person.
I also noticed quite a few older slabs, particularly NGC versions. Maybe this 'hot' market is bringing some new material out that wouldn't normally have been up for sale.
Sold a few Morgans and a Walker to free up some cash, but couldn't find any new material for my sets. Maybe it's time to expand!

I'm pretty sure I saw the coin you are talking about. It is a real beauty and I wondered why it is only a 65. I suppose proof expert would know right off.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
The show was very active. Most dealers I spoke with said there was a lot of activity, and good turnout from the public. The MSNS fall show is always a good retail show for dealers.
I bought some CWTs - which seem quite reasonable considering the quality and the historical interest of those coins. Had a great time as there were lots of nice coins to look at (and buy).

ditto on your show analysis. i didn't have any of the dealers i spoke with express dissappointment. most said that things were very active at "dealer day" and and again on Friday with a taper off Saturday. like you, i saw an abundance of quality coins. meeting at the Ernie Latter's table was a real bonus, just bummed that i couldn't see the Oranges you brought!! he seemed to have the show mother-lode of non-U.S. monetary issues. while you were interested in the Civil War's, i had the SC$ all to myself!!

Who had the nice set of MS Ikes? I didn't see many Ikes at the show.
