When saving them to your hard drive....try using hi compression. Or....use your editor to "crop" the pic, that will also decrease size I believe.

If you are using PSP, go to Image/resize and put in a percentage of what it is now. Do this until you get the size you desire.

Any program you use should have a resize tool...

I use Adobe Photoshop. I don't know if you have that or a similar program to do it.....Ken

If you are using a recent version of Photoshop, you can click File/Save to Web and a image size manipulation tool will open up. You can move the slider back and forth (for low to high saving details) and watch the file size in the lower left hand corner of the tool. When it gets below 50k, you can save it.

Most pics will stay under 50k if you downsize them to 400 X 400 and use jpeg compression to about 75. I use microsoft photoeditor which comes free with windows. It does fine for most easy things. What software are you using? That would help us answer it for you.

Basically, you can't. They are not going to be as "good" if the size is smaller do to compression or simply making the photo smaller.

Here's what I do with my pics using Photoshop:

I take a reasonably LARGE data photo with my camera.
I edit the pics to put both the obv. and rev. in the same file. Save it.
I then use the "Image Size" menu selection to downsize it to a 600 pixel width and save it (keeping the original of couse). The 600 size is used for potential Ebay or showing off image
I then take the original and make it 450 pixels wide and use that for my website.

    These are all "JPEG" files.

    how did you make them?

if camera, maybe able to adjust number of pixels

use image software to crop pictures - will cut off empty space

image software programs also will allow you to reduce size - although you may lose some quality of picture
