Does anyone collect errors?
I'd like to include those of us that master in errors or people like me who pick up errors if they are cool ones. I have a clipped '47 Jefferson, a handfull of offcentered Lincolns, and a few double struck Lincolns. Do you think it's a good idea to slab errors?

Errors are the mainstream in my collection. I have approximately 200 slabbed errors, mostly slabbed by ANACS because of their very cheap slabbing rate ($7.00 per coin). My collection includes off metals, double strikes, die caps, scraps, hammered zincers a.k.a. mutilated Lincoln cents, off centes, and mated pairs.
I have a few errors that are slabbed that are not worth more than $10.00. I don't slab to sell. I slab to have a nice presentation of coins.
Cheers, Richard.
I'd put my first marriage in that category.

I'll probably keep both, even though they don't fit with anything else in my collection.
Perhaps I'll try for a 1942/1d merc, 1922 cent and 1955/55 cent too. One day.
<< <i>So you'll be at FUN, eh? Kewl. See you there. I'll be easy to pick out of the crowd.
Yepper! I'm flying in on Thursday, spending Friday & Saturday at the show, and probably Universal Studios on Sunday. I have alate flight back to Maryland.
Are you going to wearing your hat and vest?
What are you all planning and I will try to work around that.
I can bring in some errors to show and tell if you like?
Richard.
I've caught the error bug this past year. I love looking at some of the wonderful screwups that have slipped out of the Mint. Some are fascinating to study and truly one-of-a-kind coins to own.

I'm still waiting for word on what's going to happen next week in Baltimore. There will probably be more posts as show time gets closer.
I believe I am suppose to meet up with another member, too, but will still need to verify all that.
and I have about 100 thats already entombed in plastic.
but each one is different ....I'll update when my ship comes in!
Never see anything real "major" from 97 like mated pairs, just the common stuff.
I have them in SEGS, ANACS, NGC, & PCGS holders cause that's how they were when I bought them but I have sent a few to ANACS to get holdered because they display better in slabs than 2x2s.
Here's the remanants of a die cap.

I have a cool DDR coin and it will be a quiz(which series) on an upcoming post. Just need to get the pic taken.
I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.
Always looking for nice type coins

gonzer: I just won a clipped 1973-S Lincoln Cent from Len Roosmalen, it's taken me seven years to find one. I've only seen a handful of S-mint striking errors from 1973, a couple of double-struck (one double-dated) and a handful of off-centers, but man are they hard to find. I'd love to know if you had any other '73-S clips back then.
One technicality: coins like the '55 doubled die, RPM's, RPD's, etc. are technically 'varieties' not errors. Some folks use the two terms interchangably, while others are real sticklers for the distinction.
