How does PSA determine if a Post card has been "trimmed".

Theoretically, all Post cards are trimmed. I believe that as long as all borders are visible, the card will have a grade assigned, otherwise it will be slabbed as "Authentic" with no grade.

For example, I don't believe my '62 Post Clemente will be assigned a grade because whoever cut the card cut into the border:

However, I am hoping for a nice grade on this '61 Post Clemente - all borders are evident:

    I hope that helped.

    JEB,
You're right on target. The PSA grading standards listed in each issue of the SMR verify what you said. If borders are still intact, they will assign a grade. If not, they will grade it "authentic" as long as the card has not been cut too severely.

can you trim a card as long as you keep out of the border area, or is that considered a "trimmed card"
