Neither of these are beauty queens but to an Indian cent collector the bottom coin's a nice upgrade. Both are very rare 1870 "0 in denticles" S5's, the major MPD in denticles of this series that doesn't require a microscope to appreciate. The upgraded example on top is the ex Larry Steve ANACS G8, the bottom coin a raw VF (courtesy of an Ebay buyer who beat me out to an XF one). One AU and one MS63 example are known to exist, would love to see either of those. Anyone here own them?

The better one especially looks to have an odd wear pattern. Or not a `normal` wear pattern.
Or is it.... a normal wear pattern........
BigE - actually what makes this so unique is how high the MPD is stamped, usually they're buried in the denticles. Go figure!
