How in the heck do you merge two pictures? I'm trying to merge an obverse/reverse of the same coin as I've seen done here a dozen times...Thanks

ctrl+n to make a new picture the size of the two combined (mouse over the pics and it will show the size in the lower right corner)
Select the first image and ctrl+c to copy
Select the new image and ctrl+l to paste as a new layer
    move layer to desired position
    repeat for second image
Layers->Merge->Merge all, when you have them where you want them
File->Save as->Select .jpg, since the default is .psp

It's not working for me. When I paste to new layer, that works for the one side of the coin. But it pastes it in a small window that doesn't leave room for the other side of the coin....? If I move them they go behind the window so you can't see them. This sounds retarded! What am I doing wrong?

When you say "merge", I'm assuming that you mean put the obverse & reverse side by side in one image.

Under Image pull-down menu, select Canvas Size. Put in some larger numbers for height & width....maybe about double what's already there. It'll give options for where to add the extra space. You'll probably want to put it all to one side of the original image.

Click on your other coin image. Under Edit, click Copy.

Click on first coin image with the enlarged canvas. Under Edit, click Paste As New Selection.
While the pasted image is still sitting there, drag to desired location.

Click Crop button (looks like two opposing builder's squares). Drag window around what you want to keep.
Under Image pull-down menu, select Crop and it will eliminate everything outside the box.

Then File, Save-As, select JPG and give file a name. Save.

Okay, next lesson if anyone has nothing better to do on the night before Thanksgivingimage

How do you make the background behind the coins all one color? So as to make the holders disappear...
