Can I trust this?

Can I trust these values for British coins?

If graded to UK standards, yes. If using US grade standards the values are a little high but a good starting point.

I humbly disagree. Those prices are at least a year out of date from the just issued 2004 Spinks.

    Some samples:

I seriously doubt wybrit would part with his 1869 penny (isn't it AU58 or maybe a strict brown unc.?) for 375/650, given the current Spinks is at 500/1500 pounds.

Nor I a seller at 180 pounds for an unc. 1856 penny (listen! You can hear Lloyd laughing all the way across the pond. The more common '56 OT is quoted now at 850 pounds.

What of my 1870 penny at 150...hahahaha. Nay, even at the Spinks '04 of 400 pounds, it's a trifle short.

I scanned a few other years and Clayton's prices are generally 50% under the current market. I'll buy roll quantities of these in 'strict' choice+++ unc. at his prices.

If you can, you've got yourself a deal; a super deal! imageimage

Mac pretty much summed that one up. It's pretty tough for anyone to keep up with British coin market values at this time, including Spink.
