New Website

I am getting close to finishing my new website 1964toppshockey.com I am interested in getting feedback on the site. I am particularly interested in the following things:

1) How easy is the navigation? Can you get the information that you want easily?

2) What changes would you make?

3) General Impressions?

Regards,

Alan

  • I liked the site, I wish I could find a resource like this for the year I'm collecting most urgently.

Navigation seems pretty straightfoward. Download times seemed a bit high for some pages, you may want to consider thumbnails to quicken page download time. I have a cable modem and it still took a while.

What is your goal for the site? To bring in sellers? To convey knowledge? To spark interest in what is obviously an interesting issue. You may want to put a guest book if you want to get people to give other impressions without feeling obligated to email you.

    NIce job.
Call me crazy, but I collect 62 Topps BB.

    It's not bad. Couple things:

The "gallery" pages stretch many of the images. The pictures should be altered or cropped to a certain size, not stretched or crunched in the browser. Either that, or just display them in their "natural" state, which may cause them to show up in various sizes but without being scrunched.

Also, when browsing through teams, add in the logo links to other teams and subsets on those pages, as opposed to going back and then choosing another team.

Showing card backs would be nice, at least an example. Also, a complete checklist would help. Showing the backs fo the checklist cards would work.

I'd also suggest copyrighting it (couldn't hurt). In the source code at the bottom of every page put "Copyright &#169 2003, yourNameHere". But acknowledge the trademarks you are currently violating (team logos, Topps designs, etc.).
    WANTED:
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs

    Nothing on ebay
  • I'm dumb as dirt. It took me a minute to figure out that the 3 things on the bottom of the card are links. I liked it.

I presume your "buy prices" are for raw cards.
  • Add a title to the page so the browsers don't read "Untitles Document". How 'bout "1964toppshockey.com"?
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"
