What will PSA Holder?

Is there a listing of what cards or items that PSA will holder?

I've got a few things that I want to send in, but not sure if they will holder or not.

They include the following:

1936 R312 Cards
1932-34 Orbit Gum Pins
1936 R314 Brown Sepia or Wide Pen
1936 R311 Leather Finish Premium

Are these R cards Goudey???

Thanks,

Dale

The R311 and R312 cards are not Goudey, and I think both may still be too large for even the new T3 holder (the R311s are 6x8, while the T3 card is 5 3/4x8 - I haven't measured the R312s). The R314 cards are also known as 1936 Goudey Wide Pen Premiums. They will definitely fit in a T3 holder. I would love to see all of these cards be holdered - it's far cheaper than framing them for display, even if PSA will knock the grades down severely for flaws that wouldn't even be noticeable in a slabbed or mounted card.

For those who don't know, the R311 premiums occur in both glossy and rough finish, and are a set of large photos of players and teams, with most of the major stars of the era included. The R312 Pastel Premiums are absolutely gorgeous color pictures including single-player and group photos and action shots.

The R numbering system was created by Jefferson Burdick, and was based on order of issue within a type of card (R cards were sold with gum, T with tobacco, W were strip cards, E were candy, etc.).

I don't know the answer on the Orbit Gum Pins.

  • I would like to know about pins being graded. I have seen graded Sweet Caporal pins in some recent auctions. Have they been recently graded, or did PSA grade these at one time, and have discontinued doing so?

I haven't seen any graded pins on Ebay, so I figure there aren't many around.
