Holiday auction timing advice???

I was just about to load up a couple of nice eBay auctions with a closing date of Monday week, December 1st when it hit me … whoops, Thanksgiving!
My first instinct was to hold them for a week which does put me bang slap in the Christmas mail rush with its attendant delays & mishaps. Then I thought, why not ask the experts?
So please, help the Irishman out – is the Thanksgiving weekend (plus the Monday after it) bad news for eBay sellers? Or are there enough people who’ve had enough of their families and fled to their PCs to do a little holiday shopping … for themselves!
Any advice & experience you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jonathan

I'm not sure how much of an effect it has, but I don't think I'll list anything again until after Jan. 1.
JEB.
I have found in the last two years that I have had some very good results with nice cards listed over Christmas going off a few days after Christmas. Don't ask me why, that has just been my experience. Maybe after the presents, people have time to just do what they want, like scour ebay for vintage gem cards!

I'll be off from work during the break and I will be spending extra time ebay surfing.
side note...
For some reason, I have found selling compact discs to be most profitable around this time as well.
I am 32... a child of the 80's...
Some of those more obscure, out of print CD's from the 80's including soundtracks have sold for good cash...
I mention this because it's a great way to make extra card money...
last year I made around $300 selling a small handful of my old cd's... out of print and import cd's... stuff I likely would haven given away.

Probably nothing here for Set Registry members but by all means have a look:
1968, 1969 & 1970 Topps Nolan Ryan
Thanks again and ... Happy Thanksgiving!
