The obverse on this last coin is particularly odd.
I've always wondered if he didn't do that last one for fun. It would have fit his sense of humor. You'll see what I call the "strangled eagle" on a variety of German and Austro-Hungarian coins.
It has been rumored that the eagle on the last proof is the Austria-Hungover Eagle Variety actually designed by Goetz on Jan. 1, 1909, instead of 1908 as the date would tend to have one believe.
