Virus Alert
As few of you posted a while ago you received mail from paypal---becareful if it was an attachment ending in .exe, or See the list at the end of this post. Read the following from my antivirus provider: Norton/Symantec
W32.Mimail.J@mm is a mass-mailing worm that attempts to steal personal information. This worm displays a series of forms that ask users to enter their credit card information. (See the "Technical Details" for illustrations.) This information is saved and later emailed to several predetermined email addresses.
This worm is similar to W32.Mimail.I@mm.
The email has the following characteristics:
From: Do_Not_Reply@paypal.com
Subject: IMPORTANT <random string of characters>
Attachment: InfoUpdate.exe -or-
www.paypal.com.pif
ALSO---Norton advises to:
Configure your email server to block or remove email that contains file attachments that are commonly used to spread viruses, such as .vbs, .bat, .exe, .pif and .scr files.
Norton has found about 30-40 viruses in the last 3 weeks---The cost is so minimal to have anti virus protection compared to the damage these NASTY things can do to your puter. I don't work for any virus company---just a heads up for all
