Someone explain this to me...

This probably belongs on the community board, but I know more people here...

Why the heck would you have this card graded? I have a few of these and they're actually really cool to put into the PC and watch...

I agree, why grade it since it cannot be utilized for its intended purpose?
I have seen these type cards before they are very thick and metal/plastic ish, so since they arent made of standard cardboard, just about any would grade high. So I suspect someone might bid soley on the grade, not on the content...jay

I just thought it was a little strange (and somewhat sad), that the whole purpose of the CD card was to be played and enjoyed and now it's in a capsule... anyways, I wonder how the heck BGS figures out grades for these things?!

i dont mean to offend the king...but i honestly dont see the point of slabbing certain items

Grading a card offers a guarantee that the card is not a fake or altered in any way and it also adds protection and presentation while at the same time third party unbiased opinion of the condition of the card and that adds value in case you might want to sell it to another person, especially over the net.

but ..slabbing a plastic cd? inside a plastic holder?

what value at all can grading this "card" have?

you yourself have been a leader in grading kellog's and slurpee coins ...some people might call it "pushing the envelope" or innovative"

but at the very least it adds security to them and a better understanding of how they grade.

im just not a fan of slabbing for the fun of it.

round little pictures, tiny 1/2 inch stamps and hard plastic cd's while great on their own as interesting items... do not get any value added to them by being graded

then no cards should be graded. they had a purpose to stiffen the pack so the gum would not break. to be put in a bicycle spoke to make noise, to trade 10 common cards for one star card and not think what the population is on each one. they were made to enjoy not to be encased.

free the cards.....free the cards..........free the cards.......free the cards........
